Isn’t this just the right combination for your new home?
IMAGINE a place where Colonial, Georgian and Victorian homes are joined by brick sidewalks reflecting the rich architectural style of Old Town. IMAGINE a place where you meet neighbors as you stroll down the street, relax on a bench outside the community clubhouse, browse the wares of shops, enjoy the waterfront activities, or a meal at a neighborhood café. IMAGINE a place where neighbors socialize, volunteer in the community and help each other in time of crisis. Old Town Village is a community of people who care about each other and the community they occupy.
Old Town Village was established in 1997. It consists of 155 townhomes adjacent to 125 condominiums. It’s located on the southwestern edge of Alexandria’s historic district. The 12.5-acre parcel was an abandoned Norfolk and Southern railroad yard and is considered historically significant because of Civil War activity. When the war began in 1861, the Union Army immediately captured Alexandria and made the rail yard the headquarters for its logistic operations. The site continued to be operated as a railroad yard until early 1980’s.
Residents walk to King Street, one of Old Town Alexandria’s busiest shopping areas, enjoy eclectic restaurants and waterfront activities. King Street Metro, the Capitol Beltway and DC are minutes away. Downtown’s renowned museums, galleries, the Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, Fashion Center at Pentagon City and Reagan Airport are easily accessible by Metro or auto.
As a homeowner you’ll have advantages offered by no other neighborhood in the heart of Old Town. A community clubhouse with year-round exercise room, indoor spa, a party room, a private outdoor salt water pool and carefree maintenance. Additionally few other communities in Old Town offer residents off-street parking for two cars. Old Town Village is also partially gated for ease in and out of the community.
Old Town Village has convenient access to Alexandria’s delightful special events including historical tours, art festivals, Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and the traditional Scottish Walk.
